Description
The 2004 John Deere 9660 STS is a powerful and efficient combine harvester designed for high-capacity grain harvesting. Part of John Deere's 60-series, this model is well-regarded for its performance and innovative STS (Single Tine Separation) rotary system.
The machine is powered by a John Deere PowerTech™ 6-cylinder in-line turbocharged diesel engine (8.1L 6081HH or 9.0L 6090HH) producing 305 hp (227 kW) at 2200 rpm, with a Power Boost up to 338 hp (252 kW). Fuel capacity is 250 gallons (945 L).
The STS rotary threshing and separating system features a 30-inch (762 mm) rotor for threshing and 33-inch (838 mm) for separating, with a rotor length of 123 inches (3124 mm) and speed range of 210–1000 rpm. Concave adjustment is electro-mechanical.
The cleaning system offers a total sieve area of 7,097 sq inches (4.58 sq meters) with a 12-blade scroll-type cleaning fan running 500–1200 rpm. Grain tank capacity is 250 bushels standard (optional 300 bu extension), with an unloading rate of 2.2 bushels/second.
Additional features include Contour Master technology, Harvest Monitor, Greenstar Ready precision agriculture integration, fine-cut wide-spread chopper/spreader, and available 2WD or Power Rear Wheel Drive (PRWD). Equipped with 18.4x42 front duals and 18.4x26 rear tires.
