The 2013 John Deere S680 combine harvester is a highly advanced and powerful machine designed for maximum efficiency and productivity in large-scale grain harvesting operations. It represents a significant upgrade from earlier models, incorporating advanced technology and increased capacity.

Powered by a John Deere PowerTech PSS 13.5L (824 cu in) 6-cylinder Interim Tier 4 (IT4) compliant diesel engine rated at 473 hp (353 kW) at 2100 rpm. With Power Boost, peak power reaches 540 hp (402 kW). Fuel capacity is 330 gallons (1250 L) for extended field time.

The high-capacity rotary threshing and separating system features a 30-inch rotor diameter, 123-inch rotor length, and speed range of 210–1000 rpm. Concave area is 1705.1 sq inches (1.1 m²) with a separating area of 2387.1 sq inches (1.54 m²). Variable Stream Rotor design ensures consistent material flow.

The S-Series cleaning shoe offers a total cleaning area of 8137.6 sq inches (5.6 m²) with TouchSet in-cab adjustments and a fan speed range of 620–1350 rpm. Grain tank holds 300.9 bushels standard with optional 400-bushel power folding extension. Unloading rate is an impressive 3.3–3.8 bu/sec.
