Description
The 2013 John Deere 616C is a high-capacity corn head designed to efficiently harvest corn and deliver it to the combine's feederhouse. Part of the 600C Series introduced around 2012, it offers a 16-row configuration for very high-capacity harvesting matching the capabilities of larger combines.
Standard row spacing is 30 inches (76.2 cm), with configurations available for narrower 22-inch spacing. The StalkMaster™ optional chopping system cuts and shreds cornstalks during harvest for improved residue management and faster decomposition.
Opposed Knife Stalk Rolls feature full-length blades for aggressive stalk processing, improving stalk control and reducing material other than grain (MOG) entering the combine. Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) construction with dual coating in high-wear zones provides extended service life.
Continuous loop ANSI #80 gathering chains handle higher loads and provide longer life. Dual Auger Strippers significantly reduce crop wrapping around the cross auger. The large 18-inch (45.7 cm) tip diameter cross auger delivers unmatched crop-handling capacity with 26-inch (66 cm) pitch for fast, smooth delivery and faster combine ground speeds. Reversed center flighting reduces ear tossing and prevents crop wrapping.
Optional AutoTrac™ RowSense™ Sensors guide the combine automatically based on row position. Single-Point Hook-up allows quick attachment and detachment. Hydraulic Deck Plates allow in-cab adjustment for different ear sizes. Non-StalkMaster drives feature enclosed gearcases and heavy-duty bearings.
