Description

The 2007 John Deere 1990CCS is a highly popular Central Commodity System (CCS) air seeder designed for efficient and precise planting of small grains, soybeans, and other crops, particularly in no-till or minimum-till environments. Known for its high capacity and ability to cover large acres quickly.

The large central bulk seed tank holds approximately 150 bushels (5,285 L), allowing rapid single-point filling and significantly reducing downtime compared to traditional box drills. Seed is metered at the central tank and delivered to individual row units through a hydraulic-fan-powered air delivery system for accurate placement. Oscillating agitation handles crops prone to bridging like barley or rice.

Available working widths include 30 ft, 36 ft, 40 ft, and 42.5 ft. Row spacing options include 7.5 in, 10 in, 15 in, and 20 in, with dual-row configurations (e.g., 10-in/20-in) for corn/soybean rotation flexibility.

ProSeries™ Openers are single-disk no-till openers with excellent penetration in various soil conditions. Active Hydraulic Downforce (165–450 lbs per opener) ensures consistent seed depth from the cab even on uneven terrain. Depth gauging wheels maintain precise depth. 15-degree closing wheels in cast iron or rubber ensure proper seed-to-soil contact. Color-coded meter rollers handle various seed sizes.

Technology includes SeedStar™ 2 monitoring for seed population, fan speed, and blockage detection. Electronic Population Rate Control (EPRC) allows on-the-go seeding rate adjustment. Half-Width Disconnect reduces overlap in irregular fields. GreenStar Ready for integration with AutoTrac™ guidance. Wing-fold design for compact transport.
