The 2009 John Deere 4730 is a popular and well-regarded self-propelled sprayer in John Deere's 30-Series lineup, designed for high-speed, high-capacity, and precise application of agricultural chemicals.
Powered by a John Deere PowerTech™ Plus 6.8-liter (414 cu in) 6-cylinder diesel engine rated at 245 hp (183 kW) with a power bulge to 270 hp (201 kW). Hydrostatic 4WD transmission provides smooth, infinitely variable speed control with four speed ranges. Fuel capacity is 133 gallons (503 L).
The 800-gallon (3,028 L) primary solution tank is available in poly or stainless steel. The 120-gallon (454 L) rinse tank includes a stainless steel eductor for safe chemical mixing. Front-fill design with ground-accessible quick-fills.
Boom widths of 80 ft, 90 ft, and 100 ft are available with 5 or 7 sections for precise overlap control. Standard 20-inch nozzle spacing with options for 15-inch. Optional BoomTrac™ Pro auto boom height-sensing system maintains consistent spray height. Hydraulic boom fold and Boom Return to Height feature.
Four-wheel independent air-ride suspension delivers excellent ride comfort and boom stability. Ground clearance is approximately 60 inches (1.52 m) for late-season applications. Hydraulic tread width adjustment from 120 to 152 inches from the cab. Standard 380/90R46 row crop tires.
